Creating and Saving Your Computer Login Passwords - Tips and Tricks

There seems to be two types of personalities when it comes to selecting passwords for web sites or computer programs. Type 1 is Mr. Consistent who uses his dog's name for every single password in his arsenal. If somebody were ever to crack his code they'd instantly have access to his bank account, email, gaming character, and fantasy football team. The second type of password picker is the person that gets caught up in the moment. This user has the TV on in the background while surfing the web and a funny joke happened to go over the air as they select their password. There's no way they'll forget that joke years from now will they? What was the joke again? Luckily for the second guy, there's software available now that will save all your passwords in one convenient package. For the first guy, if you forget your dogs name you probably got some more issues than we can divulge into.

Quick tips for creating and saving your computer login passwords:

1. You can choose to store all your passwords on a post-it note stuck to your computer or you can download the safer version known as the password wallet. There are other programs such as Roboform for the PC and 1passwd for a Mac. These innovative programs store passwords and contact information securely. When you enter a site that needs a password or your name and contact information, the computers will automatically fill in the data with your stored settings. These programs not only provide secure and convenient ways to store passwords, they will save you from waking up in the middle of the night when you finally remember that joke.

2. Always use a different combination of both upper and lower case letters, numbers, and even press the shift key to make a symbol such as %. This can work even if you are using your dogs name for all your passwords, you just have to make it really difficult to crack in the first place. For example you could use rRover4_52a. Now that is a difficult password to crack or guess.

3. Store your passwords in a book and hide it well in your house. This is a backup system for you just in case you use Roboform and forget to backup and lose all your saved passwords.

Passwords are extremely important and should be treated with the highest regard and respect. If someone ever hacked your bank account or sabotaged your website you would realize how precious they are. For more practical computer help and education come and visit me at my website below.
